Week 3’s menu of chicken and greens was enjoyed by all!

This week we discussed how to create healthy meals that replace fast food, but taste delicious – specifically, fried chicken. The children loved the idea of using corn flakes. And especially enjoyed the process of creating the breading by crushing the cornflakes and coating the drumsticks. Lots of shaking going on!

In addition, we learned about blanching when preparing our greens.

The children all enjoyed the chicken and said how juicy it was. Although they all ate the greens, some felt that they were a bit too bitter.
