At the start of our cooking class, I could hear the familiar refrain: “Ms. BB, I don’t like cheese.” “Ms. BB, I don’t like tomatoes.” “Ms. BB, I can’t eat dairy.” It’s a common scene in the kitchen — children hesitant to try new ingredients. But as we dove into our culinary adventure, something happened.
By the end of the class, I was met with excited voices asking, “Ms. BB, can I have seconds and thirds?” and “Ms. BB, can I have some cheese with my toast?” It was heartwarming to witness their willingness to try new foods and flavors.
