We were down two students this week due to Ramadan, but we still had a great time together! The students did a great job cutting the broccoli stems for the dish, even though they only wanted to eat the florets. I was particularly proud of how, when Sienna finished her tasks early, Alana offered to show her how to zest the lemon. The students are becoming the teachers!

Around the table at the end, students could be heard saying “the broccoli was the best part” and “I might even get thirds”. When it was time to clean up, the girls all worked together to share washing the dishes, and I thought it was sweet that they said “I want to clean everything so Mr. Dave doesn’t have to.”
