Going into this meal, only the adults were less than excited about tasting clam chowder. The students were interested, but much more intrigued by the sight of canned clams.

The chowder wasn’t as “clammy” as we feared. It actually turned out to be a delicious hearty meal.

The star, of course, was the cheddar cornbread. We had to improvise with silicone muffin cups as our cast iron skillet didn’t fit in our toaster oven. We shared the few extras with staff members who gave us enthusiastic thumbs up.
