On Monday, the Barkann Family Foundation and former Philadelphia Eagles player Brian Dawkins hosted the 2013 Michael Barkann and Friends Golf Classic to benefit the St. Christopher’s Foundation for Children. Funds raised from the celebrity-studded event helped the Barkann Family Foundation purchase a van with which SCFC will b e able to expand upon oral health and food access programs.

Michael Barkann and Ike Reese, hosts of the “Mike and Ike Show” middays on 94 WIP, broadcast live from the Bala Golf Club, interviewing notable athletes about their glory days in the Philly sports world. Among the celebrities in attendance were Larry Bowa and Ben Davis (both former Philadelphia Phillies), Marc Zumoff (the voice of the 76ers on Comcast SportsNet), Bob Kelly (a former Philadelphia Flyer), Al Morganti (from the Angelo Cataldi Morning Show) and Merille Reese (a play-by-play announcer on 94 WIP for the Philadelphia Eagles).

And while rain delayed the game for about an hour, 160 golfers enjoyed the tournament. Golfers and guests made their way to McFadden’s at Citizens Bank Park for a post-outing reception, which included remarks from Michael Barkann and Brian Dawkins, as well as a silent auction to benefit the foundation.
